Volunteering at the Gift-of-Life Marathon
Hundreds of volunteers from across the region gave the gift of their time at our three locations in 2011 performing a wide variety of tasks.
They were and will always be critical to the success of our annual tradition.
"I want to thank every one of you for your help, hard work, ingenuity, endurance and positive spirit in 2011!" said volunteer coordinator Chuck Piotrowski."Thanks to you, Rutland was able to give 1,855 gifts of life in 2011. While we did not break the national record, I want every one of you to know that you helped get the Red Cross the stuff it needs to help thousands of people in our community. The time you spent helping will be the greatest gift ever to our families, friends and neighbors who need blood this season. Be proud, be happy and know that you did some great good on Dec. 20, 2011."
